Reading Section 5

The Prophesy in the Box

Inside the old box, there were many beautiful treasures like jewelry so beautiful, that it looks as though they were so delicate that they would fall to pieces. And the gowns, oh the gowns, they were so marvelous! Each gown was woven with the finest silk and beaded with jewels in intricate patterns along the torso of the dress. But of all the wonderful things in the trunk, what caught my eye was a small little metal box. I picked it up and inscription on the top said “Miss Nyx Black,” my mother. The box only held two things, a practically ancient scroll of parchment and a small diamond wedding ring in the shape of a flower. When I unfolded the paper I saw that it was written in some foreign language. “Sing” Someone said inside my mind; Their voice was but a whisper. I began to sing as they commanded. As I sang the parchment illuminated and the words changed, and I began to read.
